So what can Norwich expect? The Canaries last visit to Old Trafford in 2004 ended in defeat with United going home victorious with a less than convincing 2-1 victory. However a late Paul McVeigh goal made for an interesting end although a spirited Norwich fell short of rescuing a point. In the return leg, the Yellow’s shocked the footballing world by beating one of the best teams on the planet in a famous 2-0 win. The unfortunate thing for Norwich is the return of Wayne Rooney – Who has scored a more than impressive 9 goals already this season. Some would argue that this is the best time Norwich could play United with back-to-back wins over Bolton and Sunderland and the Reds drawing against Stoke and Basel respectfully. Norwich more than matched Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with 11 verses 11 so you can guarantee Lambert will not hold back and give United a tough game with his typical entertaining, positive attacking football. We expect Sir Alex Ferguson’s men to win however there could be a major shock in the Barclay’s Premier League this weekend.
